PART – 1 INTRO PART

What is your full name?

My full name is Rajan Arora.

Can you show me ID card?

Here is my passport.

How far do you live from here?

I live approximately 20 kilometres from this place.

Do you like where you live, and why?

I like to live in my hometown because I born and brought up here, moreover, I like all the amenities.

Do you like to travel long distances?

Being a hodophile I love to travel and I love to travel long distances to explore more.

Do you read newspapers?

Yes, I do read newspapers to keep myself updated with current affairs whether domestic or globally.

Do you read newspaper? In print or online?

Well I prefer both printed and online, I read printed newspaper when I am free and that is available while, I read online newspaper when I want to be updated at anytime and at any place.

Have you read news when you were a child?

No, I have not read newspaper when I was a child because at that time I was not aware about the importance of news.

PART – 2 CUE CARD

Describe an occasion when you invited people to your home.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Being a citizen of India, hospitality is in our culture, there are various occasions when visitors come to our home, but I would like to talk about an occasion when I invited my cousin to my place. Since, she comes back from US after 3 years. She has cordial relation with my family. She has two kids, one boy and a girl.

It was the time 2 years back when she came back to India for wedding of her brother for 2 week she has her own house and I suggested her to stay with us instead of living in her house because it was closed for a long time and it required cleanliness.

We reserve a room for them which have all the facilities like a double bed, sofa set, LCD TV. So, that they had no problem and feel comfortable. Moreover, my mother cooks different cuisines each day for them because she already knows her likes and dislikes; furthermore, we took them to different places to watch for their recreation because they are fond of visiting places of interest.

We tried our best to provide them comfort. I spent a lot of time with them they revealed their experience with me; they told me how they struggled when they had migrated to US. Furthermore, she told that life there is very hard. Jobs are difficult to find a person needs to burn midnight oil to survive over there, whereas, the government of US provide all the facilities to the permanent residents.

I enjoyed a lot with them; time flew with the blink of my eye. I wish I could have some more time with them. All in all, this was the time when I invited someone to my place and enjoyed a lot.

In your culture how do people show hospitality?

In my culture people show hospitality by giving respect to the guest, they consider guest as a god.

What’s the difference between living in a hotel or in your friend’s flat?

It is of great difference living in a hotel and a friend’s flat. In friend’s flat a person needs to take care of whole flat and in some cases people need to cook food themselves but in case of a hotel a person don’t need to do such things a person just have to stay in hotel all the amenities such as food, laundry.
