Prestige – respect and admiration given to someone or something, usually because of a reputation for high quality, success, or social influence.
Sentence – His prestige has been raised greatly since he was promoted to the president of the university.
Principle – a basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works.
Sentence – Political correctness is the principle of avoiding language or behaviour that may offend certain groups of people.
Prohibit – to officially refuse to allow something.
Sentence – Incongruities prohibit constructing a unified picture of anything we could call Orphism.
Proceed – to continue as planned.
Sentence – He left detailed instructions about the best way to proceed.
Proclivity – the fact that someone likes something or likes to do something, especially something considered morally wrong
Sentence – This proclivity hinders their ability to respond effectively to challenges.
Procure – to get something, especially after an effort.
Sentence – It remained very difficult to procure food, fuel and other daily necessities.
Procrastinate – to keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring.
