SAMPLE ANSWER
The table identifies the twelve most popular tourist attractions in the United Kingdom in 1999 and 2000. The table clearly shows that the two newest paid-admission attractions. The Millennium Dome and The British Airways London Eye, were the most popular in 2000 with an estimated 6,516,874 and 3,300,000 visitors respectively.
In 2000, all of the other attractions with the exception of The Victoria and Albert Museum and Flamingo Land had lower numbers than in 1999. The most significant decrease was experienced at the Science Museum (-9.8%) followed closely by Madam Tussaud’s (-9.5%).
However, Madam Tussaud’s still remains one of the top for UK paid attractions with over two million visitors in 2000. The least significant change was experienced at Chessington World of Adventures which had 1,500,000 paid visitors in 2000 and 1,550,000 in 1999. There does not appear to be any correlation to falling numbers in city or regional areas.
