ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 1:-
The chart below shows the different levels of post-school qualifications in New Zealand and the proportion of men and women who held them in 2005.
Summarize the information be selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
SAMPLE ANSWER:-
The bar graph reveals the information about the percentage of men and women who held diverse levels of post-school qualifications in New Zealand. The year under consideration is 2005.
It can be clearly seen from the graph that highest percentage of males held skilled vocational diploma that accounted for 80%. It was followed by post graduate diploma with 70% and Master’s degree with 60%. Next, around 45% males did Bachelor’s degree and 1 quarter less than them completed Undergraduate diploma.
Further, highest proportion of females had undergraduate diploma with them that was 60%, whereas two quarter of the females held Bachelor’s degree while 10% less while negligible held skilled vocational diploma with them. The most striking feature is that the percentage of females was highest in undergraduate diploma while males had the latest figure in it.
Overall, it is apparent that our of 5 post-school qualifications, there were only 2 of them where females were more than males and these were Undergraduate diploma and Bachelor’s degree.
