The line graph illustrates the percentage of tourists to Scotland who visited four different attractions in Edinburgh from 1980 to 2010.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of tourists visiting the Castle and the Zoo increased, while the percentage visiting the Aquarium and the Festival decreased over the period.
In 1980, the Castle was the most popular attraction, visited by 24% of tourists. This figure rose steadily to peak at 45% in 1995 before slightly declining to 41% in 2010. The Zoo, on the other hand, started at 10% and experienced fluctuations before reaching a high of 20% in 2010.
The Aquarium began with 25% of tourists in 1980, saw a slight increase to 35% in 1985, but then plummeted to just 5% by 2010. Similarly, the Festival attracted 30% of tourists in 1980, but this number steadily decreased to 22% by the end of the period.
