ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 1: –
The chart below shows male and female fitness membership between 1980 and 2010 in India.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
SAMPLE ANSWER:-
The bar graph depicts the information about gymnasium membership of age group 18-25 and 26-33 in India. The years under consideration are between 1980 and 2010.
It can be clearly seen from the graph that in 1980, gymnasium membership with the age group 26-33 was double of age group 18-25. Next, the membership of age group 26-33 increased drastically after 5 years but then plunged till 1995. Their count rose again and in 2005 skyrocketed to peak point that was just above 500 per 1000, but then nosedived to 100 in the last year.
Further, the figures of 18-25 gymnasium membership fluctuated throughout the given time period. The count increased in 1985 to two folds, but then fell slightly in the next 5 years. Then in 2005, the figures reached at its all-time high that was close to 300 per 1000 but then again dropped to 200 per 1000 in the last year.
Overall, it is clear that in all the given years, there were only 2 years where the count of 18-25 age group gym membership was more than 26-33 age group.
