SAMPLE ANSWER: –

The most significant feature of the table detailing student enrolments over a 20-year period between 1990 and 2010, is the vastly increased student intake that has occurred. Consequently. As of 2010 the school has reached its full capacity of 3400 student.

Between 1990 and 2010, student enrolments increased 400%. The majority of new students enrolling over this period were from non-EU countries from overseas. Enrolment of non-EU students from abroad, in this period went from 0% in 1990 to 25% by 2010.

Intake of students from within the EU decreased by a quarter during the period, however, although this was more than compensated for by the greatly increased intake of non-EU overseas students. This is shown by the fact that the school still achieved its target for increasing enrolment of overseas students to 25% of total student intake by 2010.

Students living locally (within a 5-mile radius of Brighton and Hove) throughout the period from 1990-2010 showed little fluctuation in the first decade, and decreased by a quarter in the last decade. With regard to male and female intake of students, there has not been substantial variation in the numbers of each sex enrolling over the 20-year period. Although make intake has always exceeded female intake and has actually increased between 1990 and 2010, ratios of male to females remained approximately equal until 2000; intake in female student declined thereafter by about 10% by 2010.
