Dog Obedience Classes

If you have a new dog, or a dog that you can’t control, it’s probably best to come to us, the experts. We’ll put you back in charge by teaching you the communication skills you need, to have your dog living in harmony with you and your community.

Alfonso Riva knows dogs. He has been the lead trainer at Bayside Canine College since 2010 and he specializes in re-training aggressive or disobedient dogs. He has also had many years of experience training puppies and currently acts as a consultant for Dogs for the Blind.

Individual Lessons
Bring your dog to the college, or we’ll come to you. We can work on basic obedience or focus on specific problems like aggression or fear that mean they can’t train in a group. One hour weekly lessons specifically tailored for your animal. Results can often be seen from the first lesson.
Cost: $90 per hour
Package: 6 training sessions
Intensive course
Drop your dog off at the college one morning a week. The dog goes through a day of socialization and obedience classes with our staff. Then you return in the evening for a one-hour group obedience class.
Cost: $60 per day
Package: 10 weeks
IELTS General Reading Test
Basic Obedience – Adult dogs
These classes are ideal for adult dogs adopted from shelters who have had no training. They learn to sit, stay, lie down and walk on a lead. A few lessons can make bad habits a thing of the past.
Cost: $30 per hour
Package: 12 weeks
Basic Obedience – Puppies
These are classes that focus on young dogs that are less than eight months old. They learn to return to their owner when called, sit, stay and walk on a lead and to focus their attention. Teach your puppy who is boss before they get a chance to learn bad habits.

Sport training
Have fun and build a stronger bond with your dog in this class, which includes workouts for both owners and dogs! The dogs learn to run an obstacle course, go through tunnels, retrieve balls and learn to swim. This weekly class is for dogs that are more than one year old. This is one of our most popular courses and needs to be booked well in advance.

Children’s Playground Safety Rules
Welcome to the Midhurst Park Children’s Playground. To enable safe enjoyment of this park and ensure that there are no accidents or injuries, please follow the rules mentioned below. The focus should be on safety. Parents and carers who allow children to use the equipment in this park, should do so at their own risk.
Rules of the playground for parents and adult carers.
• Children must be closely supervised. An adult must stay within close range of children at all times. Children should be advised of any possible dangers.
• Do not use the equipment if it is wet. Children can easily lose their grip and fall if the equipment is wet.
• Bicycles and skateboards on paths only. Bicycles and skateboards must only be ridden on paths and not on the grass areas.
• Take it slow on the slides. Children must wait their turn to climb up the ladders. It is forbidden to climb past another child, or climb up the ramp of the slide.
• No standing on the swings. Children must be seated on the swings at all times, and it is forbidden to stand or attempt to jump off when the swing is moving.
• The climbing frames should only be used by children aged six or more. The climbing frames all have shock-absorbing ground surfaces to reduce injury if they fall.
• Keep children from walking near the swings. Children can be easily struck by another child on a swing. Point out to your child that walking near the swings is dangerous.
• All rubbish must be put in the bin. The fine for littering is £50.
• Broken equipment. Do not let your children use any broken equipment. Please inform the park ranger if you discover any equipment is damaged or not working properly. The park authority does its utmost to ensure the equipment is functioning correctly and undamaged.
