General Practitioner Online Services

Did you know that from last year, you don’t have to wait on the phone to speak to your GP surgery? Just like online banking, you can look at your GP records on a computer using a website, a tablet or a smartphone using an app. You can also:

– book and cancel appointments with a doctor or nurse online.

– order repeat prescriptions online. Some patients have found that they don’t have to waste lots of time, as they don’t need to make a special trip to their surgery to order repeat prescriptions.

– look at part of your GP records online. You can look at your records whenever you want, even from the comfort of your home, and find answers to questions you may have without ringing your doctor.

– view clinical correspondence, such as hospital discharges.

Online services are free to use and are just another way of contacting your surgery. You can still ring them or go to your surgery like you do now. You can also still request to see records from your surgery. They may charge you for this service.

How can I start using GP online services?

Follow these steps to access GP online services:

1. Take photo ID (passport or driving licence) and evidence of your current address (such as a bill) to your GP practice and tell them you want to start using their online services.

2. If you do not have any ID, then either a member of staff will have to confirm your identity or you may have to answer questions about personal information in your GP records. Complete the registration form that you are given by your practice.

3. Once you have signed up, you will receive a letter with your unique username, password and instructions on how to log in.

Did you know that you can choose to give another person access to your GP online services on your behalf? You don’t need to know how to use these services or have a computer yourself to give another person access. Your surgery will provide them with login details, which will be separate from your own. Your surgery will give you details on how this can be set up.

The recommended and safest way to give another person access to your online services is for them to have their own username and password. If you use online services yourself, you should not share your username and password with anyone. If you share your username and password, your surgery cannot tell whether you or someone else accessed your online services.

This may be a problem if someone else misuses your login details and your surgery has to look into this. You can also choose which online services you want each person to use. These are booking appointments, ordering repeat prescriptions and looking at your GP records. If you have a carer, using GP online services can stop them wasting time, allowing them to spend more time looking after your needs. Staff at your surgery will give your chosen person a short form to fill in and they will witness the signature. Your chosen person should bring identification with them. You will also need to sign to confirm you agree with the information on the form.

Sports Activities For Children During School Holidays

Is your child often bored during the school holidays? If so, why not let her or him join our sports sessions that are held 6 days a week. Our sessions include a mixture of sports and team activities. Children are split into age groups each day and our activities are run indoors and out. All advance bookings should be made on our website.

Early Years Activities

These activities are aimed at any child under the age of 5 who is able to walk. Due to the age of the children, they must have a parent or accredited carer present during the sessions. Activities include trampolining, pre-club gym courses, soft play and crèche. All activities are aimed at confidence- building and coordination development. As the early years activities are only in small groups, places are limited and pre-booking is recommended.

5 to 8-Year-Olds

Our 5 to 8-year-old activities will help your child to develop agility, balance, strength, speed and co- ordination. The activities will also develop and increase your child’s concentration and self-confidence, and develop her or his social skills through meeting and interacting with other children. Examples of activities include jumping and bouncing games using space hoppers, inflatable bouncers and other gymnastics and fun equipment.

The activities are fun and fantastic for developing eye-hand co- ordination. We also have sessions in the swimming pool, where your child will learn through play in the water in a session designed for you and your child to experience the pool with toys and fun group activities. Children must be independent swimmers in order to take part in pool activities. Book ahead or turn up and pay on the day.

9 to 13-Year-Olds

Our tailored sessions are just perfect for getting 9 to 13-year-olds into the idea that keeping fit and healthy is a cool thing to do. The sessions are fast, fun and upbeat, with primal, power, play and core activities adapted to suit young, growing bodies. Your kids can work out with their friends, make new ones and feel great too. Book ahead or turn up and pay the day manager on the day.

14 to 16-Year-Olds

Our sessions for 14 to 16-year-olds are all about football! Our qualified coaches focus on technical and fun-fitness aspects of football, with the emphasis on learning and development. Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome and the sessions end with full games every day. We don’t use full sized pitches and so with our smaller pitches and smaller sized teams, each child has greater involvement in the games. This helps youngsters to develop their technical skills more quickly in an enjoyable and fun environment. Book ahead or turn up and pay on the day.
