You saw an advert in the newspaper asking for volunteers to help run a charity event. Write a letter of application to the organisers. In your letter:
– Explain why you are interest in helping
– Give details suitable past experience
– Suggest ways you might help with the event
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir
I am writing this letter with reference to the advertisement for volunteers given by your charitable organization in one of the vernacular newspapers. I want to volunteer for your upcoming event as I have the suitable credentials to perform the required duties. Please allow me to explain.
I have a keen interest in volunteer work. Moreover, as I am a physical education teacher, I will be the best person to make arrangements for this charity sports match being organised on the upcoming Sunday. I have been associated with various charitable trusts for over 10 years and have worked for the success of various awareness campaigns, blood donation camps etc.
Since I am familiar with this kind of work, I can take the full responsibility of preparing the ground and arranging logistics for players. I am ready to take other responsibilities as well if required. I am very hopeful that I will be considered for this noble cause.
