You had applied to City College recently. Now the college has written back saying the course you applied for is full and they have even suggested an alternative course.
Write back to them stating why you chose the first course, your views on the suggested second course and your plan of action.
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter in reference to your letter explaining that the course for which I applied is full.
My name is John Smith, and I have completed my diploma in Business lately. Last month, I applied to get admission in your college for a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration since my last study was related to this discipline. After getting the bachelor’s degree, it would be easy for me to get a lucrative job.
In your letter, you suggested a bachelor’s degree in Sales Management as an alternative to the course I applied for.
Although the Sales Management sector also offers a lot of opportunities for getting a good job, earning a degree in Business Management is my dream.
As you mentioned that this course has already been filled, so I would prefer to wait until the next intake. As your college take two intakes, so it is only a matter of 3-4 months. In the end, I am really thankful for your counsel.
