You recently bought a new television from an electrical shop. When it was delivered to your house, you found that it was a different model to the one you ordered. Write a letter to the electrical shop. In your letter:
– describe the television set you ordered and the one that was delivered
– give details of how the two models are different
– say what you would like the shop to do
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir or Madam,
I bought a television from your store on January 12. As it was very large, I opted to pay for the home delivery service. However, when it arrived and I opened the box, the TV was different to the one that I had seen in the store and paid for. The model I bought was a 130 cm wide Tristan TV and the one that was delivered was the same brand but larger, at 140 cm. It is too large for the space where I would like to put it up.
As the TV is too unwieldy for me to bring back to the shop myself, I would like to ask you to have the correct size TV delivered and take away the one that I currently have from you. As I go to office from Monday to Friday, I would need my television to be delivered on a Saturday. I would be grateful if a representative from the store would telephone me to arrange the delivery and replacement.
