A friend from another country is coming to your city to attend University. They have asked you for advice on finding part-time work in your city.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
– suggest a part-time job they could do
– give details about the part-time job
– suggest the best way to find the part-time job
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Andrea,
It’s great to hear that you’re coming here to study for university. I’m really looking forward to seeing you when you arrive.
You asked me about getting part-time work. I think a good part-time job for you would be that of a server. Because restaurants are open at night, it leaves you free to attend lectures during the day. You can also choose the number of hours you’d like to work so you have time to study in the evenings as well.
You’d be paid by the hour, and sometimes customers leave quite big tips. I think it’d be the perfect job for you because you’re outgoing and friendly. I have a friend who has a pizza outlet in the city centre, so I can ask her if she’s looking for servers. If not, when you arrive, I can show you the part of the city where there are a lot of restaurants and you can approach them for work, or you can look for jobs online.
