You are a member of Newcomers Association of Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada which meets regularly at ‘Maid Marians’. During last visit, you all met at ‘Maid Marians’ but food served there was not satisfactory. Write a letter to the manager.
In your letter,
– explain what went wrong
– suggest what should be done to ensure that you and your group return to the restaurant
– describe any experience that you appreciate yet
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Mr. Fleming,
I am writing for Newcomers Association of PEI. We often meet at your restaurant for lunch or supper. Last Friday, we had a reunion of members at your restaurant. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the meal and its quality.
Concerning our food – it was cold and the chicken was absolutely chewy. The lentil curry was overcooked and spicy. This is the first time ever we had a terrible experience at your restaurant. The server was slow in rending services too. All in all, we had awful food with the ever slowest experience. We reported the poor service and food quality to the server. He was quick to acknowledge this matter – that was only positive experience we had.
Unless changes are made, we unanimously decided not to return to you anytime sooner. The overall experience was below par. We can think of returning to your restaurant only when we are assured of the best of food and service.
