You recently had a meal in a restaurant in another town. Unfortunately, you left your mobile phone in the restaurant.
Write a letter to the restaurant’s manager. In your letter,
– explain what happened
– describe your mobile phone
– make some suggestion about how you can get your mobile phone back
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir / Madam,
My name is Cara Smith. Yesterday I had lunch at your restaurant. Unfortunately, I left my mobile phone at my table. When I arrived at your restaurant, I was shown to table 5, by the window. I saw my phone was nearly out of battery, so I asked my waiter of I could recharge it from one of your sockets and he graciously said that was find. I plugged my phone in a socket behind the curtain next to window. As my phone was out of signt, I forget to pick it up when I left. Because it behind the curtain, it’s probably still there. I’ve tried calling it, but know that I had it on silent, so no one has heard it.
My phone is brushed aluminum Samsung smart phone. It is fairly large, as I do a lot of business writing on it. The screen saver is a picture of my daughter, who is three years old with long blond hair.
If possible, I think the best thing is that you just put my phone into a drawer and I will come by the restaurant at the end of the week when I’m in your town again to pick it up. This will save you having to do anything extra.
