Write a letter to your current employer. In your letter

•          say why you’ve enjoyed working for him/her

•          tell him/her how much longer you will continue to work for him/her.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Mr Jackson

I am writing to you due to inform you about a recent positive change in my life. I have successfully finished my higher education and got my master’s degree in the field of journalism at the University of Cambridge. My university is working in a partnership with the BBC company, so after the completion of education, the contract to work with them is offered to the top 10 students. Fortunately, I was on this particular list and signed an urgent contract with them so that’s why I have to quit my current job in your office.

You cannot imagine how regretful I am. Thanks to the job I was able to gain a lot of personal experience and also befriended many kind and supportive people. Furthermore, I succeeded to become “employee of the month”  five times which was a jubilant accomplishment.

I can recommend your office to my friends, who are specialists in the area of marketing and management, in order to replace my loss. As I have already agreed to work with them, they scheduled the start of my job on January 15th hence I can work in your workplace for 2 days.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Yours sincerely,

Melissa.
