IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO

What is your name?

My name is Rahul Verma.

Can I see your ID?

Sure, here! It is.

Are you studying or working?

I am currently studying in the final year of my graduation studies. It’s a 3 years degree programme in Bachelor of Arts and I am completing it in the prestigious Delhi University.

Which is your favourite subject?

I like economics subject the most though all the subjects are quite interesting. It is because economics is the subject which deals with studying about GDP, consumerism, finance, wealth, banking etc. It is about the study of how people, in their real life, utilize resources. Since it is more practical and applicable in my life, I find this subject as the most fascinating one.

Why do you like this subject?

As said earlier, I find this subject very much close to my real life. All the principles and concepts that are taught in this subject are useful to deal with the real life financial problems as well. This is the reason I think learning this subject would be really helpful for me.

Why did you choose to study in your chosen discipline?

I chose to study Bachelor of Arts since I am quite concerned about learning arts subjects such as history, geography, economics etc. which, if I learn, would help me to clear civil services exam which is my future career goal. Other than this,

I think it is quite easy for me to learn subjective courses which I like to study in my free time also. When I study these subjects, I don’t feel my studies like a burden. Rather, I enjoy learning more and more about these subjects.

SAMPLE ANSWER

To tell the truth, remembering a cool winter is among the least favourite thing to do for me, simply because I try to run away from winter as far as I can. But, no matter how far I try to run, I do have to suffer from “the bite” of winter pretty much every year, just like I did about a few years ago.

As I have already mentioned earlier, I don’t really like winter.  But, I am pretty sure that Mother Nature doesn’t really care whether I like it or not, just as it didn’t care on a morning in mid-December when I needed to pick up my aunt from the airport.

As soon as I woke up and took a peek through my window, I immediately knew that it was going to be a cold morning as I could see fog covering the landscape above the ground. For a minute, I thought that I would wait until the sun had come out but then decided against it, as my aunt wouldn’t like the delay.

So, I took a taxi and hit the road after wearing all kinds of warm clothes to protect me from the assault of a cold winter morning, as the temperature on that day was probably as low as minus 5 degree Celsius. But, after arriving at the airport, I came to know that there was a flight delay for about two hours because of low visibility in the sky.

So, I had no other option but to wait at the airport in open cold, until my aunt arrived, as the airport authority had restricted our access to the arrival lounge because of security reasons.

So why do I remember this particularly cold winter morning? Well, I remember this winter morning because it was really cold for my liking. Besides, travelling to the airport and waiting there for about 2 hours in extreme cold was a very troubling experience for me. Finally, I remember it because there was too much fog in the atmosphere on that day, and I was afraid of having an accident because of the low visibility of the road.
