PART – 2 CUE CARD

Describe a piece of advice on your work

SAMPLE ANSWER

I’m quite a disorganized person it works, and one piece of constructive advice that I have received from my co-worker was how to arrange my timetable better. Since I’ve had a memory like a sieve, his advice did help me out. It was when I was scolded by my boss for not fixing up an important meeting with his client.

At that time I was quite ashamed of myself for not fulfilling  my  work  responsibilities  but  my  colleague  gave  me consolation and suggested that I use the notepad app to jot down important stuff so that I wouldn’t forget next time. I listened to him right away and downloaded and installed the app to see if it worked or not.

I was really surprised at how it has boosted my work productivity. Every time I forget something important, I open the app to figure out what it is, and so it helps me to instantly recall what I’m supposed to do. Thanks to my friend, I have been less reproached by my boss, but even praised for my work efficiency. His advice worked really nice to me. Later I treated him a nice drink to show how I felt grateful for his useful recommendation.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

What does encouragement help people?

Without a shadow of a doubt, encouraging words can act as a great source of motivation and inspiration making others to be more hardworking and diligent. For example, if a student with poor academic performance is given some incentives, he will definitely hit the books and burn the midnight oil to get the mark so that he can receive the reward promised by his parents. This form of encouragement really works for children.

Is giving a lot of encouragement negative?

If you ask me, I’d have to agree with this. When someone is pampered with encouragement they will be stressed and it’s like being pressurized into doing stuff that’s not their cup of tea. As a result, rather than feeling stimulated to achieve their goal, people would be afraid to carry out their plans for the reason that they are scared of failure, of letting others down of failing to live up to others’ expectations. Therefore, a moderate amount of encouragement is more advisable than too much.
