What is the importance of books in our life?
Books are one of the best friends of man. They give us the best knowledge very conveniently. They are the product of the best brains of the world. They stand by us when even our best friends desert us.
What are the reading habits of the people of your state?
With the spread of education, the number of readers is increasing very fast. Computer and Internet have added to the charm of reading. The increasing number of newspapers, magazines, books etc. are the witness that people are interested in reading the printed material.
Do the people read English books in other languages?
The people in my state usually read books in their regional languages or in Hindi. The people who are graduates or post-graduates read books in English.
Which types of books are read by youngsters?
The young boys and girls like to read books of their syllabus. Some people, who have time, read books on romantic and detective stories.
What does the children/school going students read?
Children/School-going children are fond of reading books on fairy tales. Harry Potter series of novels have become a heart throb of the children.
Is there any public library in your city/town?
There is a public library in my city/town but it is not very popular because new books and magazines are not available there. Only the old people go there and read news papers.
What can be done to promote the reading habits of the people?
New and interesting books and magazines should be made available in the public or other libraries. In the schools and colleges, the teachers can encourage the students to visit the library.

Every advertisement is designed to impress the viewers. But there are some advertisements which are ill-conceived and ill-presented. I dislike the most an advertisement of Fair and Lovely Complexion Centre.
This advertisement tries to distort the facts and emotionally blackmail the innocent and ignorant people. In this advertisement we see a small family which is not fairly well off. Father is shown to be off his job. He enjoys one cup of coffee and demands the second cup of coffee. But his wife bitterly snubs him with these words “How long can you live on your daughter’s income?” the daughter who is wheatish in complexion is not so attractive.
The daughter, to improve the financial condition of her family, starts using Fair and Lovely cream. Just see! She becomes very fair and attractive in just 14 days and gets a lucrative job of an Air Hostess. Now the father is happy that he can take as many cups of coffee as he likes. This advertisement is really befooling the incorrect people.

Do you think advertisements are useful in life?
Yes, of course. These days’ adverts are quite necessary for the sales promotion of a product. Almost all companies spend a lot an advertisement.
Do you think the companies try to befool the customers?
Yes, some companies distort the facts. They use such adverts and words which try to hide the truth. They overstep the limits of truth.
Which people are usually advertised?
Soaps, tooth-pastes, health-drinks, soft-drinks, cosmetics and electronic products are much advertised.
Which are the popular means of advertisement?
T.V. is at the top. Secondly, the newspaper and banners are the popular means of advertisements.
Do you think that there should be some regulatory body to control advertisements?
Yes I agree that there should be some regulatory body. This body can check the interests of the consumers and penalize the defaulters.
