IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO

What is your name?

My name is Pictoriako Shubuloka.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Pictoriako.

May I see your ID?

Sure, here it is.

Do you enjoy your work? Why?

Initially, I did enjoy but with time I am losing interest.

What was your favorite activity when you were a child?

As a child, we had plenty of outdoor activities because internet and computers were not that popular then. Most of the time, we spent time going to parks or visiting the zoo or playing around with friends. My favorite activity was playing cricket with my friends.

What do you think children prefer: outdoor or indoor activities? Why?

I think they like both, don’t they? But it all depends on a child. These days most of the kids are glued to the computer or the phone screen playing games on the internet or video games. There are kids who have parents keeping a check on the internet usage so they do get time for outdoor activities.

How have kids’ activities changed since you were a child?

Earlier kids had more time for their hobby classes or sports but these days with the kind of competition they are facing at the academic front which is so stressful that they barely get any time for any other extra activities.

SAMPLE ANSWER

There are so many things in life to do and see except, of course, the problem is that we just don’t have “unlimited” time in our hands. However, as far as I am concerned, I think that I have already figured out what I really want to do in the future.

“Traveling”, and only more and more travelling is what I want to do in the future, in the next 20 years or so, before I completely retire from the professional world except, of course, the problem is we can’t really move even an inch in these days and eras without money. So, the plan, for now, is to work as hard as possible and save up as much money as possible also at the same time.

Of course, the good thing is I have already decided what I really want to take as my profession, which is to start a small business, as I have never really felt good about having a “9 am to 5 pm” kind of job for the rest of my life. Besides, owning a business firm allows a person to take a certain level of calculated risk and liberty to earn money in a legal way which may not always be possible if we have a “regular” job.

So, anyway, having my own business is what I want to do, not only to earn a living but also learning and reading about different countries, so that I know exactly which places are good for travelling.

IELTS SPEAKING

I want to travel around the world mainly because I have long, from my childhood, been fascinated by different cultures, traditions, religions and lifestyles, and there is no better way, in my humble opinion, to learn about them without travelling extensively.

Besides, travelling to different places has always made me feel relaxed and recuperate from the monotonous life of our daily hectic work schedule. Finally, travelling just might also allow me to explore the possibilities of even further business opportunities so that I can actually earn more money while doing the travelling also at the same time.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

Do you think it is important for a person to have a career plan?

Yes, it is very important for a person to have a career plan. A career plan gives a person something to look forward to. He can then plan his education according to that career plan. Without a plan, any work seems meaningless. So, it is very important to have a plan. Sometimes, a person may change his plan midway, but all the same without a plan taking any

step ahead is impossible.

2. How do most people plan their future education and their future career?

Most people plan their future education and career by talking to their parents, teachers, career counsellors and by consulting some people who are already in the same career.

3. Do you think it’s important to include the factor of one’s salary in a career plan?

Yes, salary is a very important factor in a career plan. It is generally seen that in the early stages of one’s life, money is needed for everything. One cannot go for a career, which doesn’t pay well in the early stages. Later on in life, one can go for a career, which one loves even if it doesn’t pay well.

4. Do you think planning is important or is it a waste of time?

Planning is very important. It is definitely not a waste of time. If things are done without planning, then it wastes a lot of time because most of the effort may go in the wrong direction and prove futile.
