IELTS Speaking Interview

Would you enjoy living in the countryside?

Definitely yes! Sometimes I wish my grandparents hadn’t migrated to Mumbai. I would have loved to grow up in our village on the Konkan coast, close to the sea, listening to the sound of the waves instead of the constant cacophony of horns!

Do you prefer living in a city or the countryside? Why?

This is not an easy question. People often romanticize life in the high mountains but it is tough. Food is very expensive and locals have to walk through dangerous terrain on a daily basis. Winters are biting cold and clear running water is hard to find. So I’ll admit that city life is easier.

Would you like to live in the countryside in the future?

Not anytime soon! I can see myself living in the countryside when I am retired and walk a slower pace of life. At the moment, the countryside is great for a relaxing day out or to go and paint the landscape but I feel more at home in the city.

IELTS Speaking Interview

Have you ever spent time in the countryside?

I go to the countryside in the North of Spain every summer as Madrid can become unbearably hot. My family have a chalet there so we all go and stay and laze about in the garden and swim in the pool. We take long walks in the mountains in the mornings and have long lunches in the afternoon followed by a nap.

Is farming important in your country?

It is very common for people to take on farming duties in rural areas. It is actually one of the main industries in my country, with over fifty percent of the population living off of it.

IELTS Speaking Interview

How often do you visit farms?

I live in a metropolitan city, so I am quite far from any farming areas, but every few months I will go visit one for a change of pace.

What can we do to support farmers?

An idea could be to purchase products from local businesses, rather than buying mass-produced merchandise from large factories. I personally enjoy going to markets where people sell their own food, like fresh fruit and vegetables, and sometimes meat, too.

There are a number of persons in India and all over the world who became successful businessmen with their hard work and dedication toward their work. They became the role model for many other aspirants who want to become a business icon. They set an example in front of the people of the world that hard work never goes waste and one day I bear fruits. Today I would like to talk about the business icon Dhirubhai Ambani who was a renowned personality in India because he had died a few years ago.

Dhirajlal “Dhirubhai” Hirachand Ambani was an Indian business tycoon. Who founded reliance industries in Bombay, with his cousin? He appeared in the Sunday times top 50 businessmen in Asia. Ambani took Reliance Industries public in 1977 and by 2002, the combined fortune of the family was $6 billion. In 2016, He was honoured posthumously with the Padma Bhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour for his contributions in trade and industry.

Initially, Ambani did business with his cousin. The first office of the Reliance Commercial Corporation was set up at the Narsinatha Street in the masjid bander. It was a room with a telephone, one table and three chairs. Initially, they had two assistants to help them with their business. During this period, Ambani and his family stayed in a two-bedroom apartment at the Jai Hind Estate in Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai.

In 1965, Champaklal Damani and Dhirubhai Ambani ended their partnership and Ambani started on his own. It is believed that both had different temperaments and a different take on how to conduct business. While Damani was a cautious trader and did not believe in building yarn inventories, Ambani was a known risk-taker and believed in building inventories to increase profit.

Ambani was admitted to the breach candy hospital in Mumbai on 24 June 2002 after he suffered a major stroke.
