What types of music do you like to listen to? [Why?]
I mostly like rock music, country song and blues. However, I am not a fan of a specific type of music as I believe good music can be found in all genres, and as a music lover, I often try music from genres that I have little interests in. Thus I also try different artists and music bands. To illustrate, I am a great fan of Pink Floyd, whose songs have transcendent lyrics and that does not deter me from listening to Shania Twain, who has a completely different lyrics type.

At what times of day do you like to listen to music? [Why?]
I usually listen to music when I am on the road and have to sit idly due to bad traffic or walk in the morning. However, I do not have any specific daytime when I tune on to my favourite songs. In general, evening time suits me and I love to listen to music at that time. The reason I pick the time is that I can feel the transformation of the day into night and it is quite sensational. I feel an urge to listen to music to make the feeling more intense and enjoyable.
Did you learn to play a musical instrument when you were a child? [Why/Why not?]
I once tried to play the guitar and that’s primarily because I often noticed my younger uncle play it. I did not want to be a famous musician and never went to a music school. That’s why I had not developed the skill of playing a musical instrument. Though I tried to mimic my uncle and tried to learn to play the guitar, that did not go far.
Do you think all children should learn to play a musical instrument? [Why/Why not?]
I think music is a great way of expressing someone’s feelings and creating a harmony that others would love. But not all children show talents in music, nor do they aspire to. This is why we should not impose music classes or lessons to learn a musical instrument for all children.

I’d absolutely loathe being a garbage collector. It has to be one of the dirtiest and most unpleasant jobs in the world, although it’s vitally important to society.

In my apartment building there is a giant trash room. It has giant bins for different kinds of waste, whether that’s glass, regular household trash, or for other kinds of waste that can be recycled — and it stinks. That room is swarming with flies and wasps in the summer, and the stench can be overwhelming. When I have to take my trash out, I’m in and out as quickly as possible. I do my best to touch as little as possible because it’s filthy. The first thing I do when I get back up to my apartment is wash my hands because I don’t want to get sick.
I have a really weak stomach and the sight and smell of these bins can make me feel physically ill. If this is how I feel about throwing my garbage out, I can’t imagine how bad it would be for me if I were collecting other people’s waste all day. I’m sure I’d get used to it in time, but the adjustment period would be extremely difficult for me, and if I couldn’t adjust I’d be doing a job that would gross me out.

The other reason why I wouldn’t want to be a garbage collector is the hours. They seem to start bright and early in the morning and work into the early afternoon. I’m not a morning person at all; in fact I’d consider myself to be a night owl. Forcing myself to get up at something like four o’clock in the morning would be torture, especially knowing the reason for this early start.
There is one upshot: I hear it’s fairly well paid in most cities. It’s such an awful job that in many regions garbage collectors would quit within weeks or months otherwise. I’m sure this isn’t true for all regions, and in places where it’s less well paid, I’m not sure why anyone would choose this line of work.
I’d much rather do just about any other kind of job, irrespective of whether it’s a physically demanding job or a desk job, but not one where I have to deal with garbage all day long.

What kind of jobs do young people prefer?
The young generation likes to do the jobs which involve creativity and where they can work independently. They also look for jobs that are well paid and require less physical effort. In our country most of the graduates are employed in IT industry. I think they like to work as programmers or IT administrators.
Some people will lose their jobs because of technology, how to deal with it?
I think it is the responsibility of the government to skill these people on new technologies so that they can find new jobs. Otherwise there would be large scale unemployment, which would be detrimental for the society.

Will you settle down in another country?
Yes, if I get a good job opportunity in a developed country, I would like to settle there. I feel if a person does not settle early than he or she will never achieve success and will always lead a stressful life.
How do young people today decide their career?
The present generation has a lot of options when it comes to deciding their career. In the past the young looked up to their family members while deciding their career but nowadays the youth have lot of role models from different fields and they make their own decisions. Some of them also like to explore different jobs before finalising on one. Moreover, they also do a lot of research looking at future prospects of different jobs.
