IELTS SPEAKING FULL INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO PART

What is your full name?

My name is Manuhira Satuk.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Manuhira.

May I see your ID?

Sure, here you go.

Do you like to watch the sky?

Yes, I have to say I am a fan of watching the sky. To me, the sky is a magnificent work of art, and I appreciate its aesthetic qualities. The colour of the clouds is so beautiful.

IELTS Speaking Topics

What is the sky like at night in your hometown?

The night sky where I live is simply a breathtaking view. As I live in the countryside, the sky is not affected by light pollution, so there are numerous shining stars in a broad blackish background. Therefore, the view is perfect for anyone who has a thirst for freedom.

Do you like to watch stars?

I find star-watching extremely interesting. I believe that every star in the cosmos has its function and holds a unique mystery to be discovered. This is a great inspiration to me.

Have you ever taken a course about stars?

I haven’t ever enrolled in such courses, but I would love to in the future. I have always wanted to know how constellations retain their shape in zero gravity without floating through space.

What’s your favourite star?

The Sun is my favourite star, I would say. This is because of its power and importance to life. If we could find a star similar to the Sun out there in space, we would be able to discover alien life forms and complete our quest for a new homeland.

SAMPLE ANSWER

I must say, I am extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful neighbour, Robert, who is really friendly and always willing to assist me whenever I’m in trouble.

Robert and I live in the same building, and our apartments are next to each other. We came to know each other when the electricity to the entire building was cut off one evening. Unfortunately, I had run out of candles and the torch was nowhere to be found, so I had to go to the apartment next door for help, and this was when I first met my neighbour.

IELTS Speaking Topics

He was extremely helpful and enthusiastic and he asked me to hold his torch while he lit the candles in his apartment. I was really grateful for his help and a few days later, I made some snacks for him as a thank-you gift. Since then, we have become quite close friends.

The more I got to know Robert, the more I began to look up to him. Even though he is well into his fifties and lives on his own, as he lost his family in a car accident, he still manages to see life through rose coloured glasses. His motto in life is “to keep moving forward”. He works and studies at the same time, and on the weekends, he travels to an orphanage to teach maths to the kids there.

He really is a wonderful neighbour and I know I could call on him if I ever needed to. We will always help each other out when we can, and because we both live on our own, it’s really important to have a good friend close by.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

What kind of relationship do you share with your neighbors?

Well, it is more of a friendly relation because we both work for the same company and share our cars to work together. It is almost like a family friend and we do help each other out in tough situations.

Being a bachelor, I spend most of my time either working or studying, or being part of some extracurricular activity. So, rarely do I get to spend time with my neighbors. However, I do know that there is an old couple that lives next to my house and we do pass smiles when we meet.

How can neighbors be helpful?

Neighbors, I believe are a family away from home. So, it is not only about just helping you in need, for example, in cases of emergency but also providing emotional support when needed. There are times when we do get exhausted and then having someone to talk to nearby is something that really helps in the busy lives that we lead.

Do you think it’s important to teach children how to have good relations with neighbors?

Yes, it is very important to teach children how to have good relations with neighbors. Neighbors are very important for everyone. If we will not teach our children today to have good relations with neighbors, they will not carry on this tradition forward and a day will come when everyone will be leading very isolated and secluded lives.
