Do you often travel by air?

No, not much. Traveling by air too often is out of my reach for a student like me. However, I do travel by air once or twice a year to an ASEAN member because the airfares to these destinations are quite affordable.

How long was the longest trip you took?

I went on a 9-day trip to Thailand and this was my longest trip ever. I spent 3 days in Bangkok, 2 days in Pattaya, and 3 days in Phuket. The remaining one day was allocated for moving.

Which country would you like to travel to in the future?

Italy is my dream destination as it is home to the most stunning churches in the world. Also, I love the Italian culture, language, and friendly people whom I’ve met in Vietnam.

Would you like to travel to space?

Yes, it sounds a bit weird and scary though. I am curious about how other planets look and how I would be when there is no gravity. This idea really scares me off but as it sounds pretty intriguing, I would like to try traveling to space once.

SAMPLE ANSWER

I would like to talk about a special occasion when a simple cake literally changed my miserable life. That was the time when I had just entered high school, which was 80km away from my hometown so I had to rent a flat and live alone near my school. Like many others, I was overwhelmed by the new environment and unable to adapt quickly. As a result, I was living in solitude for the first few months and had no close friendship with anyone.

But then an incident happened. I got sick, like, horribly sick. I couldn’t even walk for 50 meters, much less go to school. During that time, I was stubborn and stupid enough to believe that my condition would improve simply by waiting for my body to recover itself. As I was too weak to attend school, I asked my teacher to give me some days off. After 3 days lying in bed, my condition only seemed to be worse, since most of the time I was sleeping and didn’t eat anything.

But then, at around 3 pm that day I received a call from one of my friends. She asked me about my condition and wanted to come over to check me out. When she came, I tried my best to walk downstairs to meet her, and I was surprised when I saw her holding a cake in her hand. It turned out that she knew I was in trouble so she made the cake herself and brought it to me in the hope of cheering me up. That simple act almost made me cry, and I ate the whole cake with heartfelt gratitude for my friend.

After that day my body healed up quickly, maybe it’s because I had finally put something into my stomach again. And of course, we became best friends after that moment. Now, even though we have taken different paths, we still keep in touch with each other and regularly share our stories and experiences. All in all, I am deeply thankful for having such friends in my life, all starting with a cake.

During other special functions like birthdays or marriages, people organize buffet parties in which there are many different dishes are served. At different times, people will choose different food?

It may somehow depend on their personal moods and the circumstances in which they are in. When someone is down in the dumps, they are more likely to drink and eat every little, and instead, they give more time to think about how to get over that stor my period in their life. In contrast, if a person is in high spirits after winning the lottery or passing the exam with flying colors, the chances are that they will throw a big party with different beverages, foods, and fruits, and eat to their heart’s content.
