Parents today are keen to provide all the technological gadgets to their children. Do you favor this practice? Give arguments in support of your answer.
SAMPLE ANSWER
The doting parents today are always keen to provide all the technological gadgets to their children. My opinion is that parents should provide these amenities to their progeny only if they can keep an eye on them and prevent them from misusing them.
Children today are very eager to possess such modern amenities as computers, laptops, mobiles, television, etc. Parents, out of the immense love they have for their offspring, feel happy to provide all these facilities to them. Parents however forget that the children being immature tend to misuse these gadgets. They keep glued to their mobiles, playing video games all the time, thus neglecting their studies. Or, they furtively access pornography or vulgarity or violence on the interest or television. Such unhealthy practices corrupt the minds of the youngsters. They take to crimes, even sexual crimes.
The situation gets complicated because most of the mothers today are working mothers and do not stay with children at home. The problem gets compounded because of the disintegration of the joint family system, with no grandparents at home. So the immature children, with no watchful eyes on them, feel free to go astray. The gadgets turn into anti-social elements, ruin their own lives as well as prove a threat to society.
In conclusion, I would like to stay that parents should provide these amenities to the children only if they can keep watch on them, and prevent them from their misuse.
