Nowadays environmental problems are too big to be managed by individual persons or individual countries. In other words, it is an international problem. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
SAMPLE ANSWER:-
In bygone days, environment was clean and green as technology was rare. However, now we are evolving rapidly which is boon in some areas while bane in some others. Due to technological advancements, environment pollution is increasing and how it has become so huge that some people think it should be an international problem and solved accordingly while others oppose.
I agree with the former view. There are certain reasons to support my view. To begin with, pollution is increasing because of the actions of developed and developing countries but the entire planet is facing problems. No doubt under developed countries do not involve much in advancements, but still they also suffer from climate changes, global warming, contaminated water, air etc. Therefore, it would be wise if all the nations coalesce and work towards solving this issue rather than solving individually.
Secondly, developing and underdeveloped countries do not have advanced and sophisticated techniques to solve environmental hazards. For example, developed countries like Japan has the first incineration plants to recycle waste, Germany has renewable energy. So, if the world comes together, then other countries can seek their help and we can save our planet from this dire menace.
On the other hand, some people have the opposite view. As per them, developing and underdeveloped countries have other burning issues which they need to solve first. They cannot contribute their resources to solve the environmental issues. Issues like malnutrition, poverty, illiteracy, AIDS and so on are very high in these countries. So, the governments need to focus on them first, whereas developed countries which have created environmental hazards should solve it.
In a crux, I would state that environmental issues have risen to a great extent now. It is high time that all the countries should come forward and take several measures as per their capacity to solve it.
