It is not necessary to have access to the Internet to live a full life. What is your opinion?
SAMPLE ANSWER
With the modern technology, Internet has become an integral part of our lives. It is almost impossible for anyone to not live without it because of the many important purposes the Internet provides. In my opinion, I think it is difficult to live a fulfilling and complete life without the Internet.
Firstly, the Internet is necessary in keeping us connected with our friends and family. Prominent Internet communication tools like Skype, Facebook and Whatsapp greatly improve our interactions with people whom we care about regardless of where they live. For instance, my sister and her family live in New Zealand. We often connect through Skype and Whatsapp to keep in touch and receive updates about each other. Furthermore, when we celebrated major festivals like Chinese New Year and National Day, it was always pleasant to be able to speak to my sister and her family over Skype. Hence, the Internet is a very significant tool in our lives as it helps to retain close relationships with people who are far away.
Moving on, in order to have a full and meaningful live, we should attain as much knowledge as possible and be aware of the outside world. Knowledge and information are necessary ingredients to nurture one to become well-read, intelligent, and educated so that we will be able to contribute to the society positively. And the Internet is, undeniably, one essential tool to allow a self-driven person to gain all the information and knowledge that one desires.
Take for example the Wikipedia, an online user-generated encyclopaedia which allows users to search for details and stories regarding a matter of concerned. Even if a topic has not been covered by Wikipedia, a simple search on the Google search machine can easily retrieve what we need in less than ten seconds. Thus, for us to lead a useful and fulfilling life, we should keep to a life-long learning goal and this may be accomplished with the use of the Internet.
In conclusion, I feel that the Internet is an extremely effective and essential tool as it helps us attain a fulfilling life by helping us bridge relationships and gain knowledge.
