These days schools are considered a place for friendship; and the adult working years for loneliness due to urbanization. What can be the reasons for this according to you and the solutions?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Generally, schools days are the best for developing friendship and nurturing relationships for happiness and well-being. Contrary to this is the adult time period when people stop making friends due to many reasons which are discussed here and the relevant measures to prevent it.
To begin with, the key ingredient to friendship is repeated spontaneous contact which is only possible in schools. The school provides a conductive environment in which young students socialize and interact with each other which inculcates the skill of friendship at the very young age. But after the adulthood period, people get so engrossed that the value and the importance of friendship are vanished.
Owing to the design and facilities of modern cities, public do not have sufficient parks and pedestrian streets to meet. Also, people usually drive out of home and passing by neighbors in cars paves no way to make friends hence people feel isolated. Even if the friends are residing in other blocks, there is hardly any time to go and meet them spontaneously as the appointments are fixed over phone. Furthermore, usually people are already engaged with other matters that the pursuit of friendship takes a backseat.
Now, looking at the solutions, people need to salvage old friendships and make new friends during adulthood. The design of urban cities has to be rebuilt with more non-commercial public places where people get quiet place to share their ideas with each other and mingle freely with new people regularly. Even there is a need of walksheds in a community where people mingle with neighbors doing small regular errands, walking and jogging, kids playing, walking with dogs and so on.
All in all, for continuing the friendship from school time till adulthood, there is a requirement of different places for leisure and entertainment and also redesigning the modern cities.
