Nowadays, the quality of life in cities is being affected negatively. What are the reasons for this issue? What measures can be taken to solve this?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Recently, it has been experienced that the quality of life in cities is deteriorating. There are many factors that are responsible for this numerous methods are available to solve this which will be discussed in this essay.
Firstly, the life in large cities is affected by the growth in population and even the high standard of city life attracts people from rural areas. Consequently, the cities have become over-crowded with people, accommodation facilities and traffic that make life very inconvenient and hectic. Additionally, it leaves very less space for parks, gardens, open lands, amusement places and such other facilities that are very necessary to live a healthy life. Hence, people are bereft of any facilities for recreation and entertainment which makes their life stressful.
Furthermore, people dwelling in metro cities go through perpetual stress and anxiety as living in over-crowded areas is associated with social since environment becomes less controllable for the individual. People in the city are also suffering from air pollution and noise pollution that is the result of unfathomable vehicles moving in the city. This leads them to affecting their health with number of diseases such as respiratory ailments and cardiac problems.
After analyzing the problems associated with city life, one essential step that would be advisable is the control of population in city areas. This can be done by providing educational and employment opportunities in the rural areas that would control the influx of people in cities. Besides, this would also help in reducing pollution levels in the cities as it will curtail traffic level and thereby eliminating the problems associated with it.
Overall, the quality of life in cities can be ameliorated by some measures like pollution and population control so that people in cities would live a hassle-free life.
