It is usually argued that curtail the intake of fast food, taxes should be levied to increase the final rates of the food items. To what extant do you agree with this statement?
SAMPLE ANSWER
In today’s fast life, modern have compelled people to eat junk food frequently. Now, the questions arise to impose taxes so that the prices will be high and it will ultimately lessen its consumption. I do not totally concede with this as other measure are equally important to control this issue.
To initiate with the fact that fast food being scrumptious and easily available at cheap price, people prefer to eat it-regularly. However, to reduce its intake, levying government taxes would be beneficial. It will increase its prices and automatically a smaller number of people would prefer to buy it. The other significant measures like awareness about the health issues among the people about the ill-effects such as high cholesterol level and stomach disorders would discourage the people to eat fast food.
Furthermore, the children and young students should be made aware about the detrimental effects of consuming too much fast food could bring desirable results. At the same time, making them realize the importance and nutritional values of traditional food can be very helpful. Even sudden quality check and penalties by government officials at regular intervals of roadside vendors and restaurants would compel them to use high quality ingredients that promotes healthy and unhygienic food items.
To conclude, even though consumption of junk food could not be prevented totally but limiting its intake could be done. Moreover, before selecting an outlet, proper investigation should be done relevant to its hygiene and nutrition facts.
