IELTS SPEAKING FULL INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO PART

What is your full name?

My name is Sochery Chuoe.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Sochery.

May I see your ID?

Speaking Topics for IELTS

Sure, here you go.

What’s your favourite food?

I would have to say that it’s definitely steak. It’s quite expensive, so it’s a real treat when I get the chance to have steak and I love all the things that come with it like pepper sauce, chips, mushrooms, and onions.

 Have you always liked steak?

I didn’t really like meat when I was younger. My mom said that I only liked to eat sweet things or breakfast cereal when I was a child. Naturally, Coco Pops were my absolute favourite.

Are there any foods you dislike?

I like most foods, but if I had to pick some I don’t like, it would have to be vegetables, especially green ones like broccoli or cabbage. They either taste of nothing at all or really bitter. Although, I try to force them down when I have to because they are very healthy.

What are some traditional foods in your country?

Everything seems to revolve around the potato where I’m from, but there’s much more to Irish cuisine than just one vegetable. If you come to Ireland you have to try a full Irish breakfast. It’s made up of lots of fried meats, plus a range of bread like wheaten, soda and potato bread, of course.

Do you have a healthy diet?

No, not at all. I like all of the things that are unhealthy like sweets, fatty foods, and junk food. I don’t really have a lot of discipline when it comes to my diet, which is probably why I’m a little overweight.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Ever since I was little, my parents have been running their own business. They’re quite entrepreneurial people and have found it more satisfying to be self-employed instead of having a traditional job.

They run a wedding photography business. Both of them have a passion for photography. In fact, that’s exactly how my parents met — through photography. They were both skilled photographers that bonded over this shared passion. They took it a step further and turned it into a business.

I think they stated it a few years before I was born, so the business has been running for more than a couple of decades now and has earned quite a good reputation in the local community. Because of this, a lot of their business doesn’t come from advertising but from word of mouth. Couples that have been over the moon with their photos have told their friends and family about my parents’ business. When someone they know is getting married, my parents’ business is one of the first to be recommended.

Over the years they’ve expanded the business and employed other photographers. They’ve also opened up a bridal shop that’s stocked with both fashionable and classic wedding dresses. My mother can sell ice to Eskimos and just about any bride that walks into her store ends up buying something.

I think it’s really awesome that they’ve managed to build such a successful and long-lasting business. I know they’ve gone through some tough times with it and their resilience and determination has really paid off. They’ve taught me a lot about entrepreneurship and have always encouraged me to do my own thing, rather than be pressured into getting a traditional job.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

Do many people know about this company?

Yes, in my hometown many people know about this company. But as my friend tells me that they have business in all parts of India and abroad, so I guess many people know about this company even outside my hometown.

What do you think can be considered as emerging industries?

Well I guess, emerging industries are those industries which are based on new products or new ideas which are in the early stages of their development. These industries are also called sunrise industries. These industries are mostly related to information technology, wellness, hospitality and knowledge.
