Ferris Wheel – a large, vertical wheel in an amusement park with seats that stay horizontal as the wheel turns round.

Sentence – We took the ferris wheel and had a wonderful bird’s eye view of the city.

Festival – a special day or period, usually in memory of a religious event, with its own social activities, food, or ceremonies

Sentence –  The accusation of elitism seems unfair as the festival presents a wide range of music, with something to please everyone.

Festive –  having or producing happy and enjoyable feelings suitable for a festival or other special occasion.

Sentence –  Setting off firecrackers can add to the festive atmosphere and offer an outlet for people’s pleasure and excitement.

Festivity – the parties, meals, and other social activities with which people celebrate a special occasion

Sentence –  The drunken revel of the Roman leaders has the right air of impromptu festivity.

Fried Dough – It is traditionally made from leftover bread dough and pan-fried, as opposed to deep-fried.

Sentence –  The fried dough in the carnival was very tasty.

Sentence –  At the funfair, near the ghost train , the marshmallow twister is twisting.

Funnel Cakes – a cake made of batter that is poured through a funnel into hot fat or oil, deep-fried until crisp, and served sprinkled with sugar.

Sentence –  In the fair there was variety of funnel cakes available.

Gala – a special public occasion at which there is a lot of entertainment, usually in the form of different types of performances.

Sentence –  Her Royal Highness went round the room meeting many of those who had supported this Gala evening.

Sentence –  Her laugh was a gleeful, exuberant shout, her deep voice making it almost masculine.

Hijinks – energetic and excited behaviour in which people do funny things or play tricks on someone

Sentence –  But I’m not digging his new idea that our youthful hijinks, often frozen in the amber of the interwebs, wouldn’t matter so much if we would all just change our names whenever we wanted!
