In IELTS, writing is a module in which most of the candidates fail to score their desired scores. Most of the aspirants say that in spite of writing in a structured way, using good vocabulary and unique views they didn’t get the good bands. The answer for this question is “Yes” you need a good hand writing to score good bands. Just think about it, you get something written in a bad handwriting which is hard to read what will be your reaction? Yes you will feel irritated it’s the same with the examiner. If the examiner will not understand what you have written than its obvious that he will penalize you.
You will also feel bad on losing points just because of bad hand writing. Although, you have completed your task in a proper way by making it well-organized, free of serious errors and indulging unique ideas. The simple way out is to make your handwriting easily readable.

IELTS Handwriting Tip # 1: Don’t Use Cursive
You should not use cursive writing while writing in the IELTS exam. If you don’t know about cursive writing it is a special style of writing where the letters “flow” into each other and all letters are written with just one or two continuous curving lines.
If you are not a cursive user than you don’t have to worry about it just go on with your writing. On the others who are too good in this style should change their writing style to normal. Cursive writing is lucrative and impressive but it becomes hard to read especially for those who are not habitual of reading it. There is no doubt that it saves the time of the writer as the letters flow in one another but it is too time consuming who have to read it. So, it’s better to write in print style as it will be easier for the examiner to read and understand your views.

Look for a handwriting guide on internet. It will help you to know how to exact formation of every word. You must be well aware of the formations but the guide will remind you the shapes of every letter.
IELTS Handwriting Tip # 3: Show Your Handwriting to Other People
After checking the guide and adopting a particular writing style practice a lot to make yourself perfect. When you think that your handwriting is now good enough and anybody can read it take your test. Go to someone may be your teacher or your friend and give him your written content and ask him to read. As discussed earlier we can easily read our own hand writing but others can find it difficult. If the other person can easily read your content it means your writing is fair enough to be used in the exam.
