Getting good band scores in IELTS Reading is the desire of every IELTS aspirant .There are some tips which help you to master in reading. As students consider that reading test is a massive headache. You are required to answer all the 40 questions of three texts that contains above one thousand words each. This is an enormous amount to process in only one hour. However, it is very far from impossible to achieve a high score and many people are able to score band 8_9 by simply following a good method for approaching the test.

SKIM the reading and questions first _it is a good idea to skim the reading first to have an understanding of what it is about and who it is written for.
Look at the title of the Reading, any subheadings and pictures. Then look at the questions and the type of question will influence the strategies you use to complete them. You can learn the specific techniques for the distinct questions types by observing at our IELTS reading lessons.

Read the instructions carefully _ an important IELTS reading tip is to always read the questions carefully. The instructions differ for each question, for example telling you how many words you can use or whether you can take the words you will use directly from the text or not. So always read those to make sure you don’t lose marks just because you were doing the wrong method.
Take care with spelling and grammar_ if your spelling or grammar is wrong, you will lose the mark. So it is better to check this carefully. There is no excuse for making a spelling error if you are just taking the word from the reading.
Move on if you don’t know the question _ don’t spend too much time on each question. If just can’t out the answer, then take a guess and move onto the next question. You might not get the chance to do later questions that you DO know the answer to if you waste time on other questions. You can return to that remaining question only if you have spare time at the end.
IELTS Reading Tips
Beware of synonyms _ you will usually be told to highlight the main key words in the question to assist you find the answer in the text. That’s a good idea, but remembers it is not usually as easy as that and the word in the text will likely be a synonym of the word you have underlined. Hence, be careful of just Scanning to find the exact word you have highlighted in the question _ you may then go to the wrong place for the answer. So look out for synonyms when you are searching the right place in the text for the answer.
Read some parts of the text in detail _ you won’t have time to read the whole text in detail, but at times you will need to do this. When you are answering questions and you identify where the answer is in the text, you may require reading in detail to make sure you can work out the accurate answer.
Gradually increase your speed when you practice _ as your knowledge of IELTS reading test improves, you can then start to speed up. However, don’t suddenly start trying to do the full reading practice test in 60 minutes rise the time duration you spend on each test gradually until you are ready to overcome them in 60 minutes. The lower your level, the longer it will take.
Spend 20 minutes on each passage, you have 60 minutes to do three passages, you don’t have 10 minutes to transfer your answers at the end like listening. So spend only 20 minutes on each one and transfer your answers to the answer sheet in the 20 minutes too. Make sure when you do practice tests you transfer your answers to a paper sheet so that this extra time is always taken into account.
Practice with interesting texts_ you are often be told to practice reading tips as much as possible, but what do you read? You should of course practice with real reading tests and some tricky readings, but this can get quite boring, as can reading several of academic articles. Find something that will still mean you have to check and learn new words sometimes, but if it is a story you will enjoy you are much more likely to pick it up and read more. This will enhance your Vocabulary, reading speed, and other reading skills.
