IELTS SPEAKING TEST TIPS TO SCORE 7+

We speak from morning to evening everyday to gossip with our friends, family and other members of the society. In this way we share our emotions, feelings and views with others this conversation is mostly done in our mother tongue. In IELTS Speaking we have to do the same i.e. express our views and thoughts but with the examiner not with friends and the language to be use is English.  This module tests your ability to speak in English and how much are you able to convey your thoughts on the given topic. This test is designed accordingly to get the accurate result. This one to one interview starts with introduction question followed by cue card in part 2 and at the end some follow ups are asked. The students normally get nervous and commit some mistakes to lose their scores. So today we will give you some IELTS speaking tips to score 7+.

1. Don’t speak too fast

You don’t have to speak fast in order to get a high score in your speaking. You need to show the examiner that you can speak freely on any topic. So you need to maintain this constant flow when you define your answers. If you think it may be more difficult for you to talk on certain topics. Moreover, in the part second start talking more slowly from the very beginning. Because in this part you have to cover up the 2 minutes on particular topic if you start speak in slow speed than you don’t have need to generate maximum idea to explain and you can easily cover the 2 minutes.

2. Push your comfort zone

It means pushing the area where you feel comfortable to an area where you feel less comfortable. This is great to help you grow and build confidence. But it’s really important that you do it very slowly and gradually. During the exam time you don’t have time to think about the answer you just go and act. If you want to give your answers confidently than do practice at home and prepare yourself for exam.

3. Get to know about your speaking style

Everyone have the recorder on the mobile phones. Firstly hit the record button and start speaking on random topics. After that, check your pronunciation, fluency, grammatical range and other things.

If you face any difficulty in pronunciation and fluency than do practice at least thrice a day to resolve the issues.

4. Work on vocabulary

Vocabulary is one of the parameters which examiner wants to check in you. For practicing of vocabulary find the synonymous of words and use them on daily basis in your conversation. For example, you have a word “beautiful “. This word has lots if synonymous try to find them and use them.

5. Give full answers

Don’t give short answers. ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ are NOT satisfactory answers in your IELTS Speaking test. You need to show the examiner how good your English is.

If you give very short answers, there is no way the examiner can know how good you are. Therefore, you should try to extend your answers with explanations and examples and make the full sentence in the introductive questions. Also there is no right and wrong answers. It does just depend on your view points and how well you can express your ideas and opinions.

6. Correct tenses

Always use the correct verb tense while answering questions in the IELTS Speaking test. For this first you have to listen the question carefully and notice which verb tense is used. If the question is asked in future tense than you should reply in future only.

Thank you:)
