1. Facial recognition

The staff appointed there is trained well to examine the identity of test taker as they are experts at recognizing facial features, they will match your face carefully with the photo presented in your identity card such as passport.

2. Finger scan

The scan of fingerprint impression is done twice, once while entering the centre and secondly while leaving the test room at the end of test.

3. Photographs

On the test day, candidate will be called an hour prior to the exam to do formalities which include taking photograph. The staff will click your photograph which will be ultimately displayed on your Test report form (TRF).

The sole objective of maintaining this decorum is keeping the integrity of the test intact, to make sure there are no fraudulent and zero cheating cases. The fingerprint scans are not kept by the IELTS test organizers, though photographs are used for TRFs. Be calm as these safety measures are just for benefit of the candidate and to provide the most authentic and trustworthy results to everyone.

* What should I carry on exam day?

1. You must have your valid identity card such as passport or permanent residency card that you used to book the test.

2. Your venue details that you got on your registered email id.

3. At least 2 HB pencils and rest of the stationery items.

4. Water bottle which is not dark colored.

* What shouldn’t I carry?

1. Any sort of electronic gadget or device, i.e. watch, calculator etcetera

2. Your mobile phones are strictly prohibited even if switched off

3. Any paper

4. Eatables

5. Any item that is not in the aforementioned list of approved items.

* using washrooms

Yes you are allowed to use rest rooms during test. But, avoid if possible as it will affect your module time.

* Who will accompany you?

*Test criteria

LRW, that is, test of Listening, reading and writing is conducted in that sequence back to back but speaking test is conducted differently. In some nations, it is conducted on a different day whereas at some places just after a break of LRW test.

People who are on invigilation will guide you to fill details and instruct you accordingly.

The speaking test is conducted one to one with a professional who will first introduce himself/herself and then will ask you questions as per the format.

* What happens during speaking test

1. Absolute professionalism will be witnessed from the examiner as they are provided proper trainings.

2. Speaking examiners usually try to be polite and stay neutral to make you comfortable.

3. Your test is recorded to ensure accurate results

4. The test is of 13-15 minutes duration. Test takers will be free within this time limit.

–  part 1 will include questions related to your personal life and interests.

– part 2 will be on a cue card where you are given a minute to prepare the talk and then you speak for nearly 2minutes

 – part 3 will have questions related to part 2 topic.

 – No feedbacks are shared by the examiners on your performance

#Results

You will be given result online on 13th day after the LRW test but TRFs are received a bit later.

  • Centers also mail these results on registered ID’s
  • You need passport to view your result.
  • Finally results are shown on TRF which will show your test details, individual module band score along with overall bands.
  • You are provided TRFs once but in special circumstances you can request the other copy. If the test was taken in last month, up to 5 TRFs can be requested. But, later on you are charged for requesting
  • TRFs are received at the correspondence address of the candidate.
  • The student can demand re-evaluation within six weeks if he is not satisfied with the results.
  • The test remains same throughout so prepare well to excel.
