NERD – Someone who is very interested in science or technology.

PUNGENT – (used about a smell) very strong.
Sentence – It is a colourless gas, possessing an unpleasant pungent smell.
CHAOS – A state of great disorder or confusion.
Sentence – The country is in chaos right now.
ALIKE – Very similar.
Sentence – the two girls are very alike.
COMPASSION – Understanding or pity for somebody who is suffering.
Sentence – He shows compassion to the sick.
SPECTACULAR – Very impressive to see
Sentence – The town offers more than spectacular scenery to its visitors.
STAGGERING – That you find difficult to believe.
Sentence – I find their decision simply staggering.
FETCHING – To go to a place and bring back somebody/something.
Sentence – She’s been fetching up all morning..
GLORIOUS – Having or deserving fame or success.
Sentence – The glorious part of his career was now over.
AFFECT – To influence somebody/something
Sentence – It wasn’t possible that it could affect their life together.
EFFECT – Bringing about result.
Sentence – Its effect was immediate.
PHENOMENAL – Very great.
Sentence – This company gains phenomenal profit every year.
CALL OFF – To cancel.
Sentence – I suppose I better call off the hounds.
LOOK AROUND – To search.
Sentence – I’m going to look around and see what I can find.
