PLANNING TO TAKE IELTS EXAM

PLANNING TO TAKE IELTS EXAM

Similar to how everyone gets a little anxious on test day, it is normal to feel anxious on any exam day, including the IELTS exam. Are you taking the IELTS exam, then? Be aware of what the exam center will hold. You can better prepare for the exam by familiarizing yourself with the items you’ll need to manage at the location. Understanding what to anticipate before, during, and after your IELTS test is crucial.

The most essential thing is to study thoroughly and to make last-minute preparations for the exam. Another thing to remember is to bring all required documentation and be early at the examination hall. Once you pass the check-in process when entering the hall, you can store your personal goods. However, it is advised that you just bring items that are necessary and leave the rest of your possessions in the center. The test invigilator will then direct you to your seat. You won’t be allowed to converse with other test takers after you’re seated. There are a few more dos and don’ts that need to be considered.

Watch the time when the test starts to ensure you finish it on time. You can raise your hand to call the attention of an invigilator and ask for assistance if you have any questions or concerns. The examiner will tell you to leave the room once the examination is finished, at which point you can go outside and get your belongings.

In terms of the outcome, you will receive the preliminary test results via the internet five to seven days following your computerized IELTS test or thirteen days following your paper-based test. You can mail or pick up your official Test Report Form (TRF) at the testing location.

The speaking examination will take place on a different day and at a different location than the listening, reading, and writing exams, which are administered on the same day. You will have to wait for up to seven days prior to or following your test day.

Items to pack for the test day

The passport or national identity card that you used to schedule your IELTS test must be brought with you. You should bring your writing instruments, such as pens, pencils, and erasers, into the testing room if you plan to take the IELTS exam on paper. Conversely, if you take the IELTS exam using a computer, the testing center will give you pencils and paper.

Bring a color photocopy of your passport and the original, valid one you used to schedule your test. Documents other than driver’s licenses or student IDs are not recognized as legitimate forms of identity.

When you arrive, the personnel will check the identification card.

All personal goods must be left outside the examination room in a secure location or in a locker, as nothing is permitted within the examination hall except identification cards and stationery. Turn off your mobile phones, pagers, and smart watches, and leave them with your personal possessions.

After the test is over

Until the invigilator grants you permission to exit the room, remain seated.

Inform the invigilator right away if you believe that something went wrong that could have harmed your score.

Please ask your invigilator for a Test Day Incident Form to fill out if you would like to voice concerns or file a complaint.

Within one week after the exam date, this form must be submitted.

No watch, regardless of age or style, is permitted in the testing area. It will be necessary for you to leave your watch in the safe place designated for checked baggage. The testing location will have a clock.

Regards 🙂
