Your way of talking can enhance or decrease your score, for example, if you start speaking like a robot than the examiner might think that you have crammed the answer and can deduct your score. Therefore, it is essential that you should try to be as natural as possible while speaking to the interviewer during your test.

So, what does it take to look natural in IELTS speaking?

Speaking naturally is an important skill. This skill may not be present in all the people but the person who is lacking in it can learn the skill. This skill is very necessary if you want to get good scores in IELTS Speaking.

 Remember, natural is always practiced

Practice makes the man perfect this thing is implemented here also, if you want to sound natural, you will have to practice. Yes, that is the first basic thing that you need to focus on. Good public speakers practice a lot before delivering their speech or presentation. If you can spend time practicing how to speak, it will become easy for you to speak in front of the interviewer. And you will not make mistakes too.

Speak on common topics

Select some common topics and try to speak on them. As in the first part of the test is always about you, your family, friends, aims, study, etc.  So, you can practice on these topics for a long time. You can try some other modes of practice to speak in a natural way.

Body movement/tone

Body movements don’t have much impact on your scores but still try not to move your body too much. You can do little movements like you can shake your head while replying in yes or no. These minimal movements make your speaking more natural.

And you need to stick to a natural tone. You do not have to try different voice tones.

Use of Proper Accent

You do not have to speak like a foreigner. Speak in your voice. In your accent. You do not have to copy the UK, US or Australian accent. There are many candidates who try to take on different accents while speaking. That is the biggest mistake.

Be tension-free

If you are tense you may not speak properly. Therefore, learn to control your emotions. There is nothing to be tensed about. Consider the interviewer to be your friend. It will become simple for you to speak as you would like to.

Thank You 🙂
