IELTS Reading test is quite challenging for the students as they face variety of problems in this module as the result they score too less in it. So today we will give you 10 MAGICAL TIPS TO INCREASE YOUR IELTS READING SORE
1. First and foremost thing is that you should practice a lot to improve your Reading test performance. Don’t just stick to the practice tests but go for reading a variety of English texts like newspaper or magazines and should know the way to read it. This exercise will help to boost your ability to read quickly, as you require under test conditions.
2. You should read every question carefully first than move towards the passage. This will make help you to find the answers easily. Underline the keywords as you move on reading.
3. First read the passage quickly in order to get the general idea of the passage and underline the keywords. Than go back to the questions and look which part of the passage may contain your required information read that part again to get the details. If you cannot understand the passage than use some tips to understand it.
4. Be careful while copying answers from passage as if you wrote it write your score will be deducted. So make sure that your spellings are accurate.
5. Answer to every question is in the reading passage so don’t try to use your own knowledge to answer any question.
6. Sometimes in the Reading test you can face some questions which test your overall understanding of a passage. For example, the question may ask you to find the topic of a particular passage. For this question type underline key words and ideas in each paragraph as this will help you understand the gist of each passage.
7. Underline key words when you first read the passage don’t think to underline keywords in second reading. You may underline the place names, dates or person’s name. Underlining will make it easier to find these details later.
8. In the labeling a diagram question type you will find the answers in the text. Make sure that you copy the word accurately without spelling mistake.
9. If you don’t find answer for any question leave it and don’t waste time finding it, move to the other question and come back to the unanswered question at the end of the test, if you have time.
10. You will not get extra 10 minutes to copy your answers to the answer sheet. So, you should write down your answers directly on the answer sheet and not on the question paper.

Academic (60 minutes)
In IELTS academic reading test there are three Reading Passages, containing one long text. These reading texts are derived from books, journals, magazines and newspapers and are real. Passages are on academic topics of general interest which means there is no need of any specialist knowledge to score good in the exam. The level of text matches to the level of candidates who are entering undergraduate or postgraduate courses or seeking professional registration and can be easily accessed. Passages may contain materials such as diagrams, graphs or illustrations. If texts contain technical terms, then a simple glossary is provided.
General Training (60 minutes)
There are three Reading Passages.
Reading Passage 1: It contains two or three short texts, one of which may be composite (consisting of 6-8 short texts related by topic, e.g. any advertisements). Topics represent the everyday life in an English-speaking country.
Reading Passage 2: contains two short factual texts focusing on work-related issues (e.g. applying for jobs, company policies etc.
Reading Passage 3: contains one longer, more complex text on a topic of general interest. This passage is derived from notices, adverts, company handbooks, official documents, books, magazines and newspapers.
