It’s a dream of every IELTS aspirant to score 8 or more than this in the exam but many of the students miss this target with a very small margin. There are some others who don’t even stand near the target. The thing to notice is that why two students who appear in the exam on the same day get different scores. First thing is obviously the caliber but the other thing that we usually ignore is the tips that help you to score good in IELTS. Today we will discuss Some Handy tips to score 8 in IELTS which will surely help you in achieving your target.

Evaluate your writing

During the preparation of writing module of the IELTS it is mandatory to evaluate your writing task from any expert. Seek any expert that can be your friend, anyone in the family or even your teacher the only thing that you should keep in mind that the person you choose should be good in the language and can properly tell you your mistakes. The aim to check your task is to identify the mistakes and to know your weak and strong points. Once you know your weak points work on them and make sure that it doesn’t happens again.  

Practice every day

Practice makes the man perfect you should practice a lot and should not leave the habit for even a single day. Daily pick a topic write on it don’t feel low if you don’t have any good idea just write it. You can also pen down your daily routine as it can also help you in improving your writing skills. Whatever you write just make sure that you get it checked from your mentor. Also read newspaper and listen to music and various speeches which will enhance your reading and listening skills.

Follow the instructions

In the IELTS exam there are number of instruction for each module that need to be followed like in Reading and Listening there are word limits for answers and regarding the same word for the second time. In writing there is word limit of 250 words for Task 2 and 150 words for Task 1. In speaking also you have to speak for 2 minutes in the second part of the test i.e. cue card.

You should follow the instructions especially in the Reading and Listening module as if the instructions say that NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS than you should not write more than it. In writing you can go up to 280 words in Task 2 and 175 words in Task 1 but if you will write more than it your scores will be deducted.

Use more connectors

In writing you have to jump from one idea to another so to clear yourself that you are moving forward you should use connectors like as meanwhile, hereafter, therefore etc. These connector will help the examiner know that you have shifted to another idea and will guide him.  

Some more tips to score 8 bands Your handwriting should be readable.

– Make an impressive start to your writing.

– Try to use a wide range of vocabulary.

– For task 1, your sentences should be well-composed and flawless. 

– For task2, write more complex sentence structures.

– Your sentence should not be longer than 15 words.

– Your ideas, paragraphs, and sentences should link together.

– Everything your write should be transparent and understandable.

– Follow the correct structures for both the tasks.

– Underline the keywords in Listening and Reading.

– Understand the question.

– Make plan.
