WHAT IS DEMANDED IN CONCLUSION OF IELTS WRITING TASK
IELTS Writing is the module to test the candidate’s ability in writing. It has a proper format in both IELTS exam that is academic and general training. The similarity in writing module of both exams is task 2 in which a candidate has to write an essay. It starts with an introduction of task and ends with the conclusion.
Most of the students are able to write the task and they are good enough to write, unfortunately they are unaware regarding demand of task. It is often observed that significant number of students lack with the task response, mainly in the conclusion of the task.
In the conclusion, students have the confusion what to write and what not. What to write, new idea? Or new solution? Or either have to repeat old idea or to go with the new. Answers to all such questions are in the upcoming paragraphs.
In the conclusion, you want to show the examiner that you can sum up your main ideas and end the essay solidly. This is the closing statement; the examiner will read this paragraph in the last, so it needs to be strong, preferably short but to the point. You may not have much time left in the test when you write your conclusion, so practice as much as you can, looking at the various ways they can be written according to the question type.
Predominantly, a candidate must be aware regarding task, what to write in the task by this way conclusion would be clear, means what to conclude in the task. Let’s just consider an example; if the task is of problem and solution, then in the task body paragraphs one would be of problem and another is one of the solutions to those problems, then the conclusion to that essay would be the whole. Test taker should neither add new idea nor the opinion to the conclusion.
TIP >> Always start your conclusion with one of the following; In conclusion, To conclude or To sum up.

How do I write a perfect one-sentence conclusion?
You’ll notice that in all three conclusions above, I have:
– Directly responded to the question on the paper
– Paraphrased most of the keywords from the question
– Used a linking phrase to introduce the conclusion such as ‘To conclude’ or ‘In conclusion’
– Used a linking phrase for contrast such as ‘but’, ‘although’ or ‘whilst’.
