What to bring to an IELTS test 2021
There are many myths and rumors that one should not take this and that in the IELTS exam which confuses the aspirant and they wonder here and there for the accurate information. So today we will discuss about what one should carry with him in the IELTS exam center.
The most important thing you should carry is your identification document it can be either passport or national ID but make sure you carry the same document which you used during registration. Your ID document will be checked at the entry point in exam and also by examiner in the speaking test. There is no need to bring your photo as the center will click one at the entry point.
For the paper based test you should carry pens, pencils sharpener and eraser but in computer based exam paper and pencil will be provided. As electronics items are not allowed in the exam center so it is suggested not to bring mobile or other valuable. If you carry one it can be deposited in a special area arranged by the test supervisor outside the center.
In the test venue only the candidate and staff members are allowed so if anyone from your family is accompanying you he will have to wait outside.
Things to remember-
You should switch off your mobile phones and place them with your personal belongings in the area designated by the supervisor.
Normally a special room for keeping your personal belongings is available. But still it is strictly recommended not to bring any valuable items with you to the test.
Mobile phones, all electronic devices, keys, wallet, food, bags, watch/smart watch/fit-bit, and all other belongings are not allowed in the test center.
Your photo will be clicked as a part of registration process so there is no need of any extra photograph.
Special requirements
There are special arrangements for especially abled persons if you have low eyesight, vision impaired, speech impediments or any other problem check out how your test venue can help to support you on test day.
They can offer you Braille paper, modified larger paper, enlarged written prompts on the Speaking task card, special Listening test, lip reading version of Listening test, special amplification equipment, word processing software and voice-activated software.
To avail any of the facility you should contact your test venue before booking your IELTS test and they will advise you on the next available test dates. The notice time can vary depending on the modifications needed to your test.
