What to expect on IELTS Exam Day?

Understand what happens on your test day
It’s normal to feel nervous on the day of you your IELTS exam. But remember getting anxious won’t help you. So, try staying calm and focus on positive energy. Now let’s discuss in detail how to prepare yourself for approaching exam.
As your test day approaches, it’s important to know what to expect before, during, and after you take your IELTS test.
An important thing to follow is to make sure you arrive early and carry all the necessary documents with you as the check-in process may vary between test venues. After you have checked-in, you have to lock away your personal belongings after that you will be guided to your seat by a test invigilator. After this point you won’t be able to talk to fellow test takers.
Time Management is the most important factor when you start preparing for your IELTS exam. Once the test begins, keep track of time so you have enough time to complete each part of the test. If you have any concerns, you can raise your hand to get the attention of an invigilator. Once the test concludes, you can leave the test room and collect your belongings.
Your provisional test results will be available online 5 to 7 days after taking IELTS on a computer or 13 days after sitting a paper-based test. Your official Test Report Form (TRF) can be picked up from the test venue or mailed to you.
Out of four modules the Listening, Reading, and Writing parts of the test are completed back to back after each other on the same day. Whereas for speaking module there is nothing fixed, for some test centers, they will conduct he Speaking test on the same day, or up to 7 days before or after your test date. It will be informed to you earlier so that you can plan accordingly.
What to do if I am late for the IELTS Exam due to situations beyond my control?
If you experience any difficulty on test day, please inform the test centre immediately. The test centre may offer you a test on the next available test date.
On the test day
On the day of your test make sure to bring your same passport or national identity card that you used to book your IELTS test. If you do a paper-based IELTS test, you can take pens, pencils, and erasers into the examination room. If you do a computer-delivered IELTS test, the center will provide you with pencils and paper.
You will be asked to leave all of your personal belongings outside the examination room in a secure area or locker. Mobile phones, pagers and smart watches must be switched off and left with your personal belongings.All watch irrespective of their style and age are not allowed in the test room. You will be required to leave your watch with your belongings in the secure baggage area. There will be a clock at the test venue.
If you keep mobile phones or electronic devices with you, you will be disqualified.
The IELTS test location staff will check your identity when you arrive.
Please bring your original and valid passport you used when you booked your test, along with a color photocopy. Driving licenses, student IDs and other documents are not accepted as valid proof of identification.
If your Identification documents are Invalid or expired itwill not be accepted. If you cannot provide valid ID, you will not be able to sit the test.
At the end of the test
Be seated Stay until the invigilator gives you permission to leave the room.
If there is something that will create a hinderance in your way to perform your exam than tell the invigilator straightaway.
If you want to file a complaint, please ask your invigilator for a Test Day Incident Form to complete. This form needs to be submitted within one week of the test date.
