Which part of the IELTS is more difficult?

IELTS is not an easy nut to crack neither impossible to get your desired scores. The reason behind this is the difficulty level of the exam the all 4 modules are equally difficult and it’s hard to identify which part of the IELTS is more difficult? but if we go with students views than we can say that Reading is included in most difficult module. Students do struggle to increase their scores. The problem is that if you are doing lots of practice test this is not going to help you to increase your score. In fact it can lower your scores because if you doing are the wrong things than this is going to lead you getting worse. Also many students have a misconception about learning a course or learning strategies as they think these will automatically increase their scores. So In order to solve these things you need to follow four simple things.

1. Strategy for each question type

You need to know about the strategy of questions. For example true, false, not given, list of headings, matching the information, fill in the blanks. The list of headings and true false requires different kind of strategies. The problem is that many of the students learn the strategy and then go and do practices test. When they start practice they think that strategies don’t work but it is the problem of overall approach of the students and not with the strategies because looking at the strategy once will not make you the master of it. The solution is that you should teach these strategies to someone else. If someone wants to know about the strategies than you should explain it in detail. When you will explain you wouldn’t check in your notes you would be able to tell them. As a result, you can also learn that how you can follow the strategies. If you just write the strategies in your notebook but you don’t remember well than these are useless for you.

2. Practice the tests

A lot of the students believe is if they do more practice tests their scores will increase but this is not true. You should practice little bit differently. Firstly start practice by using strategy. You must focus on your questions don’t look at the time and don’t try to manage the time when you focus on the types of questions. You need to start to use strategies step by step. If it is takes you 1 or 2 hours just do the one practice test. However, the mistakes that lot of students do are that they look at the strategies and then they do a practice test under exam conditions. In this way they don’t get their require band scores. So start practicing one by one.

3. Analysis your mistakes

Try to analysis your mistakes when you are doing practice at home. Sometimes students find the correct locations but they don’t find the correct answers. So they need to clear their doubts after completing the test. To clear the doubts take help from your reading answers and understand the meaning behind the question and location.

• Other than reading, candidates also find the writing more difficult .Many IELTS candidates sit in the exam and do well in reading, listening, and speaking, but then get a comparatively low score for writing.

This is because they don’t able to generate ideas. They do practice but they don’t discuss their essay with tutors or with friends. They just write the essay to manage their time and to maintain the word limit but they don’t check their weak areas.

Moreover, misreading the question is also big problem. Sometimes students see a question that relates to education and begin writing. But they don’t understand the logic of question.  Make sure to analyze the question fully before you start writing.

Thank you 🙂
