The above graphs show the distribution of hand dominance among sets of identical and non-identical twins. In both groups, right-handedness is extremely common, accounting for 85% of participants in the first group and 89% of participants in the second group.

However, comparing the two groups shows some differences in the patterns of hand-dominance for left-handed and ambidextrous individuals. Among identical twins, left-handedness, while still much less common than right-handedness, was twice as common as ambidextrousness, at 10% and 5%, respectively. In non-identical twins, however ambidextrousness was almost three times more common than left-handedness, with totals at 8% and 3% of the population respectively.

Altogether, this demonstrates that while right-handedness is still by far the most common, other handedness patterns differ between sets of identical and non-identical twins.
