This line graph tracks the approval ratings for a president’s 10 year term from 1985 to 1995.
The graph shows that in 1985, at the beginning of this president’s term, the percentage approval rating was below 30 percent. Approval moved above 30 percent in 1986 and increased very slightly in 1987. By 1988 approval of the president was at roughly 35 percent.
In 1989 President Churchill’s approval rating continue to improve, exceeding 39 percent. The level of approval held steady in 1990. From 1990 to 1992 approval again increased, reaching approximately 44 percent. This percentage remained level in 1993 and grew slightly in 1994. Approval peaked in the final year, 1994, at more than 45 percent.
In summary, President Churchill’s approval ratings grew throughout the 10 year term, increasing more than 15 percentage points. The lowest approval rating was in the first year, and the highest rating in the last year. At no point did the percentage approval decline.
