Your local newspaper published an advertisement asking people to offer time for local environmental initiatives in your area.
Write a letter to the project manager to offer your help. In your letter:
– Describe a local volunteer project that you are passionate about
– Explain what you would like to do to help
– Suggest how to gather more support for the cause
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in regard to an advert that was recently posted in the city’s local newspaper. I believe it was published just at the beginning of the "New World" section and required volunteers for a new environmental project.
At the moment, I am collaborating with my children’s school research team, which is in charge of studying the benefits of recycling plastic around the neighbourhood. I am a big fan of contributing to all types of tasks that help our planet heal and reverse Climate Change.
I would love to be part of the team as I consider myself an expert in the subject. I believe that, as a landscaper, I would be able to add great value to the project as I have worked on several similar tasks before.
Additionally, I would suggest that we reach out to the ministry of environmental activities in order to receive further support and higher funds to accomplish this project’s goals. I have had the pleasure of working with them in the past and they have shown quite a lot of interest in the subject.
