IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO

What is your name?

My name is Gago Haho.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Gago.

May I see your ID?

Sure, here it is.

Do you live in a city, a town or in the country?

I live in a small village not far from this city, about a 30-minute drive from here.

Is it a good place to live for young people?

I don’t think so. There aren’t many places to go out to, just one bar and a pier which has got some shops and a cinema. There isn’t much night life there. Most young people move to the city once they finish school. I liked growing up there, though, and I went back when I finished my university degree. It’s a great place for families with kids, but not if you’re young and like going out often.

Do you like watching television?

I don’t watch TV that much, really. I prefer to pick up a book. I do watch DVDs every now and then, though.

What kind of TV programmes did you like to watch when you were a child?

I liked programmes about nature—animals and plants, that sort of thing. I still do, but I don’t watch them as often as I would like to. They’re very informative, especially for kids. Now, let’s talk about sports.

Model Answer:

Introduction:

Well, needless to say, most of the time, people find themselves running out of time because we remain too engaged with works and that’s the reason why we are always in hurry.

When did it happen? and Where were you?

Actually, a couple of months ago, it was my father’s birthday. As a routine, he went for work but I decided that I will arrange a surprise party for him.

What did you do? And explain why you were that busy?

As other family members left as well, I made an excuse to stay at home saying that I am not feeling well. But as soon as everyone left, I started to make the arrangements. I was having approximately 6-7 hours to make all the arrangements so I decided to start with cleaning of the house. As soon as I cleaned the house, the next thing was to invite the guests.

I made phone calls to friends and relatives but told them to keep the secret and everyone was invited to the evening party at 6. So now, I was left with 4-5 hours and I decided to bake a cake for my father as a birthday gift. Since I can bake cakes very well and my father really loves the taste of the cake which I bake.

So I baked the chocolate cake, which is my father’s favourite. Now, it was time to decorate the house. So now, I was in a rush because I had to go to the market to buy some decorative items, especially balloons and it took me more than two hours to decorate the house with balloons and other things but it was looking awesome.

I was kind of tired by now. But I still had to place the order for the food for the guests and it was just about 6’o clock and when my father return and knocked the door, he was super surprised because by the time all the guests had arrived and the house was looking extremely beautiful and everyone started singing the birthday song.

My father got a little emotional and he hugged me and he was very happy with the arrangements and he was kind of surprise by the way, I managed everything in such a short period of time.

Conclusion:

Overall, I can say that it was the time when I was over-occupied.

Question 1. Are you often busy?

Answer – Yes, I am. I’ve been preparing for the test and am in training for a driving license. I have a training lesson once in three days and have to get up at 6 o’clock so I can have more time to practice in the morning when it’s not so hot. I feel exhausted after staying in the car for three hours. Later, I return home and prepare my own breakfast and meal, completing some household chores. I start my work at 11, which goes up to 9 pm. My weekdays are very busy and hectic. I look forward to the weekend for relaxing and chilling.

Question 2. Why are people so busy these days?

Answer – With the advent of technology and science, people’s lives have become so busy that no one has spare time. This is because people want to earn huge amounts of money to make their life luxurious.
