IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO

What is your full name?

My name is Dariwa Havfi.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Dariwa.

May I see your ID?

Sure, here it is.

What do you remember to do every day?

Well, there are many things I have to remember to do every day. For example, after getting up in the morning, I need to take some simple physical exercises like doing some crunches and push-ups. Besides, another important thing that I should keep in mind is to teach my son to read the traditional Chinese poems in the evening.

What helps people to remember things?

Well, it’s kind of hard to say but people I know around me use the to-do-list apps in their mobile phones to help them remember what to do next; but maybe for others, they may probably write the urgent things down in the notebooks.

Why do old people forget about things easily?

Well, I guess it’s quite normal that people are more and more forgetful when they are becoming ageing. Apart from some negative emotional factors like stress and depression, elderly people are easier to forget things because of their normal ageing.

Have you ever forgotten something important?

Oh yes, I nearly forgot the birthday of a woman I liked last time. I once asked her what her birthday was, and told her I would send her a gift, but I just unbelievably forgot it until the evening that day. Fortunately I asked her out to dinner to celebrate with her.

IELTS Speaking Interview

What’s your favourite vegetable and fruit?

My top three are broccoli, celery and grape because all of them are both nutritious and delicious. Also, I want to give mushrooms an honourable mention as they are one of my favourite things to cook with, although they are a fungus.

How often do you eat fruits?

I think I eat fruits at home on a daily basis. I always buy a lots of different fruits in the shopping mall in the weekends for my whole family.

Are there any special fruits in your hometown?

Oh yes, there are loquat trees everywhere in my hometown. Loquat is very sweet and has lots of nutrition and can become medicine.

Should we eat vegetables every day?

Yes, we do. We really need to eat vegetables everyday because you simply cannot find another food group that is as perfectly matched to our everyday human needs as vegetables. There are various protein, fibre and vitamin that cannot be found in other food like meat.

SAMPLE ANSWER

IELTS Speaking Interview

Since I was very small, I have had a special interest in cooking. So, it is no surprise that, now that I have grown up, I dream of having an oven with rings for cooking on top, which is in very popular use overseas.

In Vietnam, this kind of oven is only sold at big electronics and appliance centers. Different from the normal oven, this one provides more stable and exact temperatures, which is one of the critical factors in baking. Besides, it has four oven top elements, which is highly convenient because it allows you to cook and bake at the same time. It also saves a lot of space in your kitchen because it is free-standing.

Another feature that I would like the oven to have is a self-cleaning system. If you cook frequently, you will definitely appreciate this facility. It is inevitable that when you cook, your oven/cooker will get dirty. As a result, with the self-cleaning feature, it is much easier for us to clean.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

How do you think modern technology has changed the way we work (compared to the past)?

Modern technology has changed many things in our lifestyle. In past all the equipment’s are bigger which we can use only in the spacious place where we kept it but now it was more advance which we can carry anywhere and any place wherever we go.

Do you think that operating equipment at work can ever have some bad effect on the body?

Yes of course, operating equipment may cause accidents to the person who has not trained well to handle it. Sometimes even a well-trained person can also meet with an accident with the operating equipment, also with those equipment people have to be aware of their children by avoiding them touching it.

IELTS Speaking Interview

Do you think it’s important for employees (in-industry) to be trained to use the equipment at work?

Yes it is very important for employees to be trained with equipment at work. Otherwise it is very dangerous.

Do you agree that older people have difficulties in using (advanced) modern equipment? How can we help elderly people to use these modern devices?

Not every older person has difficulties in using modern equipment. If they are educated person, they learned easily when we taught them

Are there any disadvantages of using modern equipment too much in the home?

Yes there are some disadvantages, though it helps them to make their work easier, it is good by doing our work by ourselves but it makes them lazy too. They forget to interact with family members. They are always dependent on it. It makes them forget how to do that work.
